2024 Tours

Northern Europe & Scandinavia
31 Jul - 20 Aug 2024

This tour will show you – in spectacular fashion – how innovative and hardy farmers are successfully growing crops and livestock in some of the world's most challenging (and stunningly beautiful) regions. The Netherlands will show off its rich culture and hi-tech farming before we venture into Belgium/northern France and the evocative WWI Battlefields of the Somme. We then fly from Brussels into Bergen – the gateway to the stunning fjords of Norway. The breath-taking landscape and troll roads slowly give way to a very "orderly" Scandinavian farming scene as we explore the regional and highly productive areas of Norway and Denmark. This tour ends in Copenhagen with the option of continuing on to other European attractions such as the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Turkey / Greece / Italy
9 Aug - 2 Sep 2024

We start at Istanbul which straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait. Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the many empires that once ruled here. After a visit to Gallipoli, the tour will explore the Aegean and take in highlights such as the remarkably preserved Roman city of Ephesus. Greece has plenty of amazing historic ruins as well and also some modern agricultural developments. Then to Italy and all its wonders.

South Australia / King Island / Tassie
1 - 18 Sep 2024

South Australia, King Island and wonderful Tassie

Japan
May 2025

Japan is an intriguing blend of ancient traditions and modern imperatives. It is the world's third biggest economy with 125 million very proud and nationalistic inhabitants occupying a spectacularly beautiful country about half the size of New South Wales. Our tour will introduce us to an amazingly polite and hospitable population and an extremely orderly and industrious economy. Japan is one of our 'top 3' trading partners and imports around $3 to $4 billion worth of Australian farm products each year – and has an agriculture which enjoys some of the highest levels of government assistance and tariff protection on the planet.

The Top End
Jun 2025

Agriculture in Australia’s north is booming. New developments in dryland and irrigated cotton and other crops; large horticulture developments finding ready markets in Asia and, of course, the beef success story of recent years. And there is no more beautiful place on earth. We will visit successful farmers on the Atherton Tableland, Northern Territory and the Ord irrigation area. There will be plenty of opportunity to sample the best scenery, landscapes and activities the north has to offer.

South America
Jul 2025

There is probably no other part of the world with the same rich mix of incredible farming combined with magnificent scenery along with diverse culture and history. South America is simply one of the most rewarding places on the planet to explore.
