Day 1

Friday 24 Aug

Depart various Australian capitals for Prague, capital of the Czech Republic (a country now officially – but rarely – called Czechia)

Day 2

Saturday 25 Aug

We arrive Prague, where we are met by our local guide and transferred to our downtown hotel for check in. After a rest and freshen up, we enjoy a guided city tour to help get our bearings.

Sunday 26 Aug

Activities in and around Prague.

Day 4

Monday 27 Aug

Depart Prague to the southwest with an arable farm visit along the way. We also call in on a hop production enterprise and of course, a Pilsen brewery where we inspect the hops and barley being put to good use.

Day 5

Tuesday 28 Aug

We cross into southern Germany this morning and onto the village of Schwandorf and a visit to the Horsch farm machinery factory.
We continue onto the beautiful medieval town of Regensburg, located majestically on the Danube River.

Wednesday 29 Aug

Continue south today and enter the awe-inspiring Alps. The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe. They stretch for 1200 km across eight Alpine countries (France, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany and Slovenia). The Alpine region contains about a hundred peaks higher than 4000 metres (13,000 feet). The altitude and size of the range affects the climate – and farming – across a large area of Europe.

Farm and cultural visits in the Dolomite region of Austria/northern Italy.

Farm and cultural visits in the region.

Saturday 1 Sep

Continue southeast into Slovenia and the magnificent Lake Bled.

Farm and scenic visits around Lake Bled.

Day 11

Monday 3 Sep

Travel eastwards today into the grain producing region of Slovenia for farm visits and then we continue onto the beautiful capital of Ljubljana.

Thursday 6 Sep

We travel northwards today into Italy and onto the agricultural centre of Udine.

Travel to Venice with a dramatic entrance via the Grand Canal. Guided tour of Venice.

Saturday 8 Sep

A free morning before it's westwards towards Florence with farm and scenic visits along the way.

Sunday 9 Sep

Guided tour of Florence and other activities before a free afternoon.

Day 18

Monday 10 Sep

Travel south today with a durum farm visit. We also call in on a pasta manufacturing facility and a visit to Siena and onto the Montalcino region.

Tuesday 11 Sep

More activities and farm visits in beautiful Tuscany. We also visit a local vineyard producing the world-acclaimed Brunello wine.

Day 20

Wednesday 12 Sep

Continue south to Rome with scenic and technical visits along the way. On arrival in Rome we enjoy a guided city tour of just some of the many highlights.

Day 21

Thursday 13 Sep

More activities in Rome before a free afternoon.

Day 22

Friday 14 Sep

Flights home today or you have the option of continuing with your adventure to other European or Asian destinations.
